Vata
The individual dosha types
with prominent quality are easily observed by some characteristic.
The typical Vata individual
is usually of slender body with prominent muscle and slender features, looking
kind of underweight.
They have dry skin tending
toward roughness with poor circulation and their hands or feet and often cold,
making them uncomfortable in cold weather, preferring spring and summer. These
individuals have a variable appetite and thirst and variable digestive
strength. They are often attracted to sweets, sour, and salty tastes and often
experience digestive difficulties creating constipation as one of their most
common ailments.
Due to the mobile quality
of Vata, they do not like sitting idle but prefer constant activity. They also
like to do a lot of traveling. Not doing anything feels like a punishment for
them. They are attracted to vigorous physical activity, but get easily get
strained and tired, including sexual activities.
Vata individuals sleep less and have a tendency
toward interrupted sleep. Psychologically, they are blessed with quick minds,
mental flexibility, and creativity. They have excellent imaginations and excel
at coming up with new ideas and become easily excited, alert, and quick to act.
They quite loving people, but may love someone out of fear of loneliness and are
one of the symptoms of unbalanced Vata.
Anxiety, insecurity, and
nervousness are also common among them. They are worriers. One of the main
psychological qualities of Vata individuals is readiness to change, but show difficulties
with stability and commitment. They often change home, jobs, or towns, and get
easily bored. Their faith is also quite adaptable and the willpower and often
feel unstable or ungrounded. The idea of clarity is very attached to their mind
and become political and social orientated, even with promiscuous qualities of
clairvoyant abilities with their lively minds and fertile imaginations.
They generally have less
tolerance, confidence, and courage.
Vata types tend to make
money quickly, but they spend it quickly, but often impulsively spending money
on useless items and as a consequence they may suffer economic hardship.
Excess Vata makes the mind
restless and hyperactive, substituted with caffeine, smoking or alcohol having
a hard time settling down and staying grounded.
Pitta
Characteristics of the
Pitta individual and body type are one of medium height to slender with
delicate voluptuous features. They seldom gain or lose much weight. These
individuals tend to have a prominent hair style and skin with freckles that are
very common.
With black or colored
people the skin is much lighter.
With a Pitta constitution
hands and feet are usually warm and may be sweaty and they perspire quite a
lot, heat is the main characteristic of Pitta types, which is not surprising as
the word Pitta is derived from the Sanskrit as heat.
They have a low tolerance
for hot weather, sunshine, or hard physical work, but have a strong appetite,
strong metabolism, and strong digestion. They are prone to fevers, acid
indigestion, burning sensations, ulceration, burning eyes, colitis, and sore
throats.
Pitta individuals are alert
and intelligent and have good powers of comprehension and concentration. Their
intellects are penetrating and keen, and their memories are sharp. They have
good, logical, investigating minds. They love to go deeply into problems and
solutions and have a great capacity for organization and leadership.
Pitta character love noble
professions and aiming for engineering, law, or a medical status, having good
administrative abilities and like to be in a leadership role to establish
disciplined ambitions. They have a lot of charisma and People are attracted to
them for their wisdom and dominating personality. Everything has to be done on
time, and correctly, for they never yield an inch from their principles, which
sometimes leads to fanaticism. They tend to be critical and judge themselves,
making their life span only moderately long. These individuals burn their life
energy through too much mental activity, perfectionism, aggressiveness, and the
constant search for success.
They have a deep-seated
fear of failure. They don’t like the words no or fail and therefore may be
highly stressful. They are the typical workaholics. They like to live in
luxurious homes and drive fancy cars; they love perfumes, gems, jewelry, and
other costly items; and they enjoy exhibiting their wealth and possessions.
Kapha
Individual Kapha people are
blessed with a strong, healthy, well-developed body. Their chests are broad and
expanded, and they have strong muscles and large, heavy bones. With their
larger frames and constitutions dominated by the water and earth elements, they
tend to gain weight and have difficulties losing it, as they have a slow digestion
and metabolism. As a result, they tend to carry excess weight and to be on the
chubby side, but maintain a strong vital capacity and stamina and tend to be
healthy. Their skin is soft, smooth, lustrous and thick, and it tends to be
oily. They have large, strong, white teeth and their hair tends to be plentiful
everywhere.
They have a steady appetite and thirst, though
digestion is slow to become aggravated, the person is likely to become obese,
which is one of the main causes of diabetes, hypertension, and heart attack.
Kapha personalities have quite a sweet tooth and love cookies, and chocolate.
They are generally attracted to sweet, salty, and oily foods, but these
contribute to water retention and weight gain; their bodies need a lighter diet
and do better with the bitter, astringent, and pungent tastes.
Their sleep is deep and prolonged. Despite
their strong bodies and great stamina, vigorous exercise is good for them, but
they prefer to sit, eat and observe. These individuals move slowly and are
blessed with a sweet, loving disposition. By nature they are peaceful, patient,
tolerant, caring, compassionate, and forgiving. They are stable, solid, and
faithful with a spiritual or religious faith that is deep and abiding.
Kapha can be slow to comprehend,
but once they know something, that knowledge is permanently retained. They have
excellent long-term memories. Their tendencies toward stability help them to
earn and hold on to money, and they are good at saving.
The difficult time of year for Kapha individuals is winter and early spring, when the weather is heavy, wet, cloudy, and cold, leading to physical, emotional, and mental imbalances. Emotionally, when Kapha becomes unbalanced, these individuals may suffer from greed, attachment, envy, possessiveness, lust, and laziness, leading to depression. Interestingly, Kapha can become aggravated when the moon gets full as there is a tendency toward water retention in the body at that time.
Knowing once energy constitution has many benefits and is the foundation of once life that is changing with age and other qualities become more prominent and bringing change to the doshas. The saying, that every person is a unique and a book in itself, making the reading of that book the wisdom of once story.
By understanding once constitution, one can
better understand the psychological tendencies, strengths and weaknesses.
All tendencies and habits or lifestyle are directly
related to once constitution.
