The eight Nakshatra resides entirely in Cancer between 3’2 to 16’4 degree and occupies the western zodiac from the 5th until the 19th of July.

It is seen astronomically as a triangle of three faint stars of north and south Aselli and the star cluster called M44. 

Pushya means to nourish or providing nourishment.

This Nakshatra is symbolized by an udder of a cow, which represents the maternal aspect of providing milk and nurturance. It is considered the lunar mansion for spiritual maturity. All forms of worship and spiritual practice are emphasized here. Saturn the ruling planet brings stability, discipline and enables to take the mind and its caring aspect into new forms.
