Modern Ozimandis

A voter from a trending land, told about a giant billboard so tall, by the highway, where the traffic in crawl.

A grinning face with teeth whiter than bone, I ALONE CAN FIX IT ALL, in prominent tone.

The image is peeling and one eye is torn, pigeons have nested in the mouth that swore.

Golden words underneath, I am the honourable, Leader, Father and Future, vote for the unity and believe this rapture.

Many years later nothing beside remains about that grinning wreck, potholed road, the empty clinic, the dry tap, the jobless youth, what the heck.

The people of ignorance and need of control, not knowing digging their own grave hole.

The wicked and needy creatures not knowing love, believing they are all above.

The more they shop and need to have, the more it proofs being an emotional slave.

We built them higher, with our small fears, for simple answers, pretence and jeers.

Disquite is the wheel that quicks, and the disharmony that speaks.

Humanity in small proportion has the trust in divine intervention, when compassion is each other's prevention.

Time and slow accountant comes at last, with a mirror and some welcome laughs.

All that will remain of this mighty reign and of our trust, the faded face and great embarrassment when the dust turned to dust.
