The practical wisdom and
systemized knowledge of Ayurvedic Astrology is considered as the science of
life and the art of lifestyle that encompasses all phases of life, mind and the
spirit.
The foundation of cosmic
consciousness and of all existence is the language that manifests the
separation and opposites of female and male energies or Purusha and the
Prakruti as the female energy.
Both Purusha and Prakruti
are eternal, timeless and present in all living organisms, including every person
and every man and woman, as well as all inanimate objects.
Purusha the male qualities
are active consciousness in passive and pure awareness, formless and beyond
attributes, cause and effect, beyond space and time, Purusha takes no active
part in creation but remains a silent witness as seed of creation.
Prakruti, the female energy
is active and choice-full consciousness, with change of form, color, and
attributes of all senses that dances the dance of creation. Prakruti wants to
become many.
Purusha is the lover,
Prakruti the beloved and creation of this union in the universe happens through
their love.
Prakruti is the divine
Mother and Prakruti is the intelligence of the cosmic order or the Buddhi of
intellect.
The self-identity or ego is
the center of conscious experience of how to think, act and react and in the
qualities of Sattva as stability, purity, awareness and clarity. The Rajas
qualities of the ego are dynamic and the cause of sensation, misjudged feelings
and emotions.
Tamas energies from the ego are the tendency toward inertia, darkness, ignorance, heaviness and periods of confusion. It also leads to the creation of matter of unwanted circumstances.
Sattva is the purity of the new-born mind and
stimulates the sense of the organs, to hear, to perceive touch, eyes to see,
tongue to taste, nose to smell, the mouth and the motor organs of action, the
hands, feet and all responsive sense and organs of excretion.
Rajas qualities are the active force behind
the movement of both the sensory and motor organs.
Tamas qualities are related to the elements, which form the basis of material creation and growth with space (ether), air, fire, water, and earth.
