The alchemy of the body
Vata, Pitta, and Kapha are
the alchemy or elements combine into three basic energies or functional
principles and present in to different degrees, in everything and everybody.
Space and air are Vata, fire and water make up Pitta and water and earth constituting Kapha.
Ayurvedic alchemy declares that Vata is the bodily air principle and the energy of biological movement and vital life essence and intelligence that keeps the body alive with everything that moves in the physical, mental and nervous system of the body as creative force.
Pitta is the principle of fire, the energy of
digestion and metabolism and spirit. Fire is the constitution of energy and
metabolism, it governs all biochemical changes and regulating the body with digestion,
absorption, assimilation, and body temperature.
It promotes appetite and vitality, it establishes as well the temper of attitude and every impression from the outside to digested the psychological equilibrium that controls the mind.
Kapha is the principle of
water and the energy of lubrication, freshness, lightness and emotional
happiness. Water and earthly principles are the crucial combination and glue
that holds and recycles every cell in the body. It lubricates our joints,
moisturizes the skin, helps to heal wounds, and provides strength, vigor, and
stability. Psychologically, Kapha is responsible for the emotions of
attachment, greed, lust, and envy. Or in balance it expresses itself towards
compassion, love, calmness, and forgiveness.
When Vata is out of balance, it influences and disturbs the other doshas and becomes the root of most illnesses by false self awareness and pretence that is acting towards poor activity and its vitality creating disorders as such of tremors, emaciation, stress related issues, arthritis and loss of memory.
Verily, life is one
continual battle, and the one alone is victorious who has conquered himself.
