Contentment is not a
reaction and it is something much more creative and profound. Contentment comes
when one understand what one actually is and do not pursue what one is not.
Most people think, when one
has achieved that entire one wants; one will have contentment by achieving that
end.
Contentment is not
satisfaction, but very vital and a state of creativeness in which there is the
understanding of what actually is.
Our
social life and everything we do is based on acquisitiveness and who is doing
what for centuries, we have been brought up like that.
For all the more, the
egocentric self enclosing habit to be somebody.
That is why it is very
important to understand the self, which is to perceive the workings of once own
mind with it’s the motives, the intentions, the longings and the desire.
When all these have come to an end through the understanding of what is, only then one will know the religion of serenity and what God is.
Ultimately the human spirit wants something absolute and eternal state that is everlasting for the mental satisfaction in knowing permanency in everything.
The ever happy after from property, relationships and virtue that cannot be lost, like God and the absolute truth.
Truth
is something like an extraordinary mystery that is discovered only from moment
to moment.
Truth needs to be
discovered and understood in every action, in every thought, in every feeling
and observed at each moment of every day. A persons thinking is conditioned and
limited to the truth, and the discovering of that, sets the mind free from limitation.
Truth is not something
which you can gather, accumulate, store up and then rely on as a guide.
Truth is timeless in the mind that knows what is beyond names, status and the impermanent.
If one is
really aware outwardly, the inward awareness also begins to awaken, and one
becomes more and more conscious of the reaction to what people do.
The relationship with other
people is the outcome of an inward state of wanting, of hope, of anxiety and
fear.
True spirituality depends
upon the tuning of the soul.
Contentment is the fullness
of an inexpressible power which speaks louder than any words.
